The Friends of St. Mark's initially formed to help support the Preservation Youth Project. After the 1978 fire, the Friends group became the Citizens to Save St. Mark's and helped raise money for the rebuilding and restoration of the Church. The Citizens later formalized as the St. Mark's Historic Landmark Fund (501c3).
The Landmark Fund's next major effort was the restoration and rehabilitation of the Historic Ernest Flagg Rectory after it was severely damaged by fire in 1988. As part of the Rectory restoration and adaptive re-use project, the Landmark Fund took on the creation and sponsorship of the Neighborhood Preservation Center.
Since then, the Landmark Fund has engaged in a variety of capital projects on campus. Having completed the restoration of the West Yard Arch in 2012, we are now focused on the ongoing maintenance and preservation of the Historic Ernest Flagg Rectory.
